Embodied Knowledge in Autoethnography: Between Moving, Feeling and Writing

As our last reading group on auto-ethnography was so popular, we decided to offer a follow-up. This time, Anna proposes to work with two texts she has been working with in her own artistic research in which she explores neurodivergent embodied knowledge.

Ulrike Scholte´s reflections on drawing as method and Nick Walker´s use of embodied knowledge to explore autistic epistemologies offer us two enriching perspectives on how much potential our bodies hold to understand our realities in more than a purely rational approach.

After a little introduction into the history as well as the value and challenges of auto-ethnography, we warmly invite you to discuss the texts with us, and are keen to hear about your own interest in/use of embodied research.

We meet May 27th, 2pm at LUCA School of Arts Ghent, tuinkamer

We gather at the entrance before 2 to walk inside together as the room is a bit hidden.
